One of our founders, Jane, was impressed by how a well made-up face completes a person’s look.

However, she knew that not everyone was familiar with applying makeup.

“For a good six years of my life, I only knew how to put on BB cream and concealer,” the 30-year-old mechanical engineer sheepishly confessed.

But as time passed and she started meeting people from all walks of life, she realised that was not sufficient.

"My face was void of colour, and people always said my eye area makes me look listless and old. It affected my self-esteem at times too because I felt like I wasn’t pretty enough.”

Armed with her expertise on machinery and the desire to make professional makeup accessible to all, Jane, together with help from her makeup blogger BFF Joni, created Fairytale™ .

“I was responsible for all the wiring and coding whereas Joni came up with the beauty templates. She couldn’t be happier that I’m finally putting more effort into dolling myself up!” she mused.

Satisfied with their end-product, Jane and Joni hope that the art of beautifying oneself can allow those who lack confidence to step out of their shadows and emerge more empowered.

A marriage between art and science - who would have thought it could result in revolutionary makeup?
